Garnier Skinactive Micellar cleansing water review

The review of this product has been pushed off  for quite some time. I apologise for the delay but I wanted to try this cleanser properly to analyze all the properties (the goods and the bads) and to see for myself if all the hype which surrounds this cleanser was true.

Even though I totally love my Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar water, I wanted to know if there was a less expensive alternative available in the market. I purchased the 125ml version of this cleanser. This also comes in a big 400ml bottle too which retails for 500 Pkr
About the packaging:
This has a very chic looking bottle which is transparent and has a pink cap. The cap is secure( I haven't noticed any spillage so far) on the bottle it claims that you can get about 60 uses from a single bottle which is amazing. Because this 125 ml cost about 200 pkr and to me 60 uses translates as 2 months of usage, very cosy effective👍

About the product:
This is just like water, transparent clear and has no scent. Upon shaking the bottle some bubbles are formed. The cleanser dispenses out from the bottle quite easily without making a mess. I used this by soaking my makeup removing cotton pad with micellar water and then gentle wiping my face with it. This removed the foundation from my face with one swipe. I had to go over my lips twice to remove the matte lipstick. It removed the eyeliner and eyeshadow without much effort but for mascara I had to hold the cotton pad on my lashes for a minute to loosen up the mascara

I am quite impressed with its performance. I have heard a lot people complain that this made their skin breakout luckily I haven't experience any skin irritation or pimples while using this product so far. One thing though this leaves a slightly moist residual feel to the skin. I usually follow this up with a face cleanser so its not much of a problem for me but for those who want their skin to feel dry . You might have to consider trying out some other makeup remover.
Are you curious to know how this compares to Bioderma sensibio H2O Micellar water?? Stay tuned to my blog to see an unbiased comparison post coming up soon
Until next time
Bye

[Review] Mediheal dress code mask ( blue, black and violet)

Today I will be review some really cute mask that were sent to my by skin18.com for review purpose . I choose these masks entirely because of the cool masquerade design hehe lets see if they are only visually attractive or worth the money too?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Compared to the sheet masks I have tried out in the past the sheets of these masks is way more thicker. In my mind I thought these would be hydrogel mask but to my surprise these turned out as regular cotton sheet masks. Whats new about these is that they have a fancy design printed on them so it makes the sheetmasking even more fun specially when you have a slumber party with your friends

Since i got three  masks for the review purpose I shared these with my mother and sister

Mediheal dress code mask  Black (whitening)

When I tore open the mask I was met with this nice scent which I liked a lot. Seriously I enjoyed scented makeup and skincare products as long as they have fruity or floral scent . The mask size was a bit large for my face so I tucked the ends down my chin . This particular mask tingled slightly initially but then the tingling sensation was gone
I left if on my face for 30mins (10 mins more than the recommended time). The serum in this is clear and liquidy but it did not absorb as fast as the previous masks I have tried . I rubbed the spare essence onto my arms and neck so that none of the serum foes to waste.
What I noticed was that my face was instantly bright. But sadly the effect didn't last long( It was gone by next morning).

Mediheal dress code mask  Violet

For my sister the serum was too much for her taste. As the mask was large for her face some of the serum got onto her hair 😊. But I helped her fix the situating by squeezing some of the serum back into the mask packet.my sister particularly liked the design on the mask. She spent a lot of time taking selfies. According to her the mask was nice and hydrating. This variant didn't tingled her skin thankful nor did it cause acne on her face. This also brightened her face. Her skin looked fair than normal after using this mask

Mediheal dress code mask Blue (aqua care)

Onto the third mask. My mother by now is a fan of sheetmasks so she was quite eager
to try this one out by mediheal. This is labeled as aqua care clearly target for skin which needs hydration. My mother has dry skin so she absolutely loved the hydration the mask provided. She did felt that the thick fabric of the sheet mask was a little uncomfortable but other than that no complains. The scent if the mask was good too and my mother got that chok chok skin.
Out of all the three make I was sent the black dress code mask had these red faux jewel like sparkly things attached to them which made it even more fancy
I think these masks are bomb.com for the price plus they are so much fun to use.I imagined myself at a mysterious masquerade ball . Lol me and my day dreams . This is my first time trying out products by mediheal and I really liked the quality of this brand. I will surely purchase more masks from this skincare brand in future

[Review] BentonPapaya-D Sun Cream

Benton Cosmetics is one of the brands which has made it name in the beauty market be it the West or the East Established in 2011 it has released a lot of products which have become cult favorite. [ i am looking at you snail and Bee venom essence]

recently Benton cosmetics organized an event where they picked lucky testers to try out their new Papaya D suncream, this is actually the first ever suncream/ sunscreen and i think they have nailed the product right in first go

**** I was sent this product by Benton Cosmetics in exchange for an honest review*****

BENTON
The name and definition of Benton took its motives from the movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ (also known as ‘Benjamin Button goes backwards in time’ in Korea) which had a warm touch on many people’s heart. In the movie, Benjamin is born as an old man and he becomes younger and younger as time goes by and ultimately dies as a new born baby. Benjamin happens to deeply fall in love with a woman named Daisy. However, as time goes by and as Benjamin becomes younger he has no choice but to leave Daisy. What if Daisy could have also turned back time on her physical appearance, wouldn’t she be happier?

It may just be a fictional movie, but wouldn’t most people have the same desire to be young again? Benton’s desire is to turn back the time of your skin. Unlike the instant temporary effect created by harmful ingredients, we hoped to improve skin care by using the healthy ingredients in our products which will help regain your skin to its original healthy condition
(source: Benton cosmetics official website )

i have oily skin which has tendency to breakout pretty easily. my main goal when picking out skincare or makeup is to avoid formulas which have high content of oil in them because that's the kind of stuff which causes acne and pimples. for the past 2 years i have been using a medicated sun block which was prescribe to me by a dermatologist. now if i be honest i haven't been using it as regularly as i should because the texture of the sun cream is thick and greasy so my skin totally feels suffocated in summer and during rainy seasons
when i applied for the tester opportunity i was excited and skeptic because i have heard great things about korean sun screens and this was a first time for me trying out an asian suncream

The Benton Papaya D suncream comes in a very travel friend squeeze tube which is clean white in color and has a silver cap. i really like how chic and sophisticated the packaging. also the nozle makes it super hygienic to use

Quantity: 50 gm ( man i am sure this is going to last me a very long time )

Price : 18-20 $

About the product:

Benton claims that this suncream is light and moist
has a citrus-y scent and has white color, physical sun screen and has temporary white cast
SPF 38 PA+++ (pretty good any sun screen about SPF 30 gives about 97% protection from UVB rays while PA protects from UVA radiations

My thoughts

compared to the sun creams i have used in past this is indeed light in weight .on application this feels light on the skin and gives a healthy sheen. it has good moisturizing properties. i think you can wear this under your foundation and totally skip up on moisturizer or primer( at least for people having oily skin ). i has a faint scent i cant really detect the scent though but it does not stays for long . just vanishes during application . As its a physical sun cream it does have white color but don't let that scare you as this blends so beautifully into the skin that there are no signs of a white cast . i took a picture of my self with the flash on and viola no signs of flash back so you can mix this with your foundation.

this suncream is moisturizing in a non greasy kind of way . for people with oily skin this might emphasize the oil on your face slightly but i am sure you can achieve a  glow-y makeup look( all the strobbing and highlighting trend that  has been  around lately). i am pretty sure this is going to work out even more better in winter . luckily the dreaded comedones and blackheads did not pop up during my 1 week use.

although this is designed for all skin types i think people with combination, normal and dry skin are going to enjoy it more as compared to people with oily skin .
Well done Benton cosmetics you have done a great job with this sun cream

you can purchase this online at Benton cosmetics website

Olor 24Hr protection Deodrant in Melody, Gorgeous Green and Playful Peach

Most of the body sprays/deodorants that i have tried in the past don't last for long on me. now i sweat like crazy so i reek of it too so my main goal is to find a perfume which can make me smell fresh all day long, these deodorant by Olor claim that they give 24hr protection which is half true

these are very economically priced, for just Pkr 215 you now purchase a can of this deodorant which is going to last for a decent amount of time. the design of these cans is so beautiful and chic. there are quite purse friendly and totally jazz up the vanity table.
the nozzle on these deodorants sprays the content evenly

Melody has a very feminine and flirty scent its not exactly floral but has a sweet edge to it that i cant put my finger on . the scent is quite pleasant and not strong or overpowering at all. this is my favorite scent out of the three deodorants. i can assure you that you can definitely wear this to work or college; the lasting power is good. this stays strong for  a solid 3hrs and then the scent fades in a manner that it is  still their only faint

the scent Gorgeous Green has a very refreshing scent like lime and mint mixed together ,its the kind of scent i am most likely going to wear to a garden party or when on ward rotations, the scent is not as strong as Melody but it is noticeable, i think the crisp notes of orange also help to keep one awake

i didnt liked this scent in the beginning it smelt like medicine to me but after taking a couple of deep whiffs i began p notice the peach and vanilla and jasmine scent in this Playful Peach deodorant. i usually avoid perfumes which have Jasmine scent to them so Jasmine makes me feel nauseous but the blend of peach vanilla and jasmine makes  a wonderful combination
there are a lot more scents in the range to choose from , i like the new packaging even more than the previous one.i recommend these deodorants to you guys as they are really worth the money.

[Review]: Khyber Namkeen Restaurant

I love to try out new cuisines so when I was invited to try out the Pashtun/Afghan cuisine aka shinwari food by a new eatery called Khyber Namkeen Resturant I was excited about the whole experience.

Situated in F-11 markaz the Resturant is a cozy little place which has setting to house customers inside as well as outside( personal opinion: Shinwari is enjoyed best when sitting out breathing in the fresh air). The decor is nothing special to write about but its the food which is promising and great

According to the owner of the restaurant Mrs Tahir ( A lady of cheerful disposition) the Resturant has been functional since last december.  And all the Shinwari dishes are prepared by Pashtun cooks.
Afghan / Pashtun have a very carnivorous diet so meat (specially red meat) is chief ingredient of most of the dishes

We ( my fellow bloggers and I)  were served 4 dishes to try out
Here is my take on each dish

Chicken tikka

The chicken was juicy and tender. The spices were added in moderation. The taste seeped deep so every bite was delicious. they were served with raita

Lamb tikka

This was a bit salty for my my taste but this is how it should be. This was grilled over charcoal so it had the signature smoky barbeque flavour.
Moving on  there was mutton karhai served with naan. the  meat was soft and chewy and the curry tasted good too.

Saving the best for the last is Kabli Pulao. This is basically a jazzed up version of desi pulao haha just kidding, this is riced cooked in broth which is then mixed in with carrots, raisins and lamb giving it a very distinct sweet and salty taste ( that's like the best of the two worlds for your taste buds).the rice grains were separate and steamed to perfection the carrots very crunchy and the meat was shredded into long pieces

What I liked best about this Resturant was that all the ingredients used to prepare dishes were fresh.
This resturant also serves desi dishes (daal makhni a local favourite) and have the regular fast food listed in their menu as well. The dessert corner is a bit lacking but then who can say no to good old gajjar ka halwa or kheer ?

If you happen to visit Islamabad or live in Islamabad and are looking for something new to try I recommends you to pay a visit to Khyber Namkeen Resturant I promise you wont regret it. And if you are a lazy bum like me just pick up your phone and have the food delivered to your doorstep as they offer delivery service to many sectors in Islamabad. Plus they are also available at Foodpanda pakistan
Happy dining!!!!

Masarrat Misbah Makeup New MMSummerPop lipvarnish in Viola and Iconic Woman review

Nothing is more exciting than getting hold makeup the day it is launched. (These beautiful lipsticks which were sent to me courtesy Masarrat Misbah Makeup )

 The two vibrant and bold
Lip varnishes launched are MMOrange and Viola. From what I have heard the formula of these lipsticks is reformulated so its better Tha the previous one. I will be sharing my views on the new lip varnish Viola and the old lip varnish in shade  Iconic women

Price :750PKR
Quantity: whopping 5gms average lipsticks have 3.2-3.8 gms
Packaging:
These lipsticks are cased in such beautiful gold and matte black tube. The plastic packaging is sturdy and looks so luxurious Just like high end makeup
About the lip varnishes

Viola

Out of the two lipsticks Viola is my favourite. I don't own a shade like this in my lipstick collection. It is a beautiful cool toned purple lipstick with pink undertones. The shade looks flattering on both fair and dusky skin. In terms of pigmentation this gives  maximum color payoff on one swipe. The texture of lipvarnish is creamy and light. Even though its a matte lipstick it glides smoothly on the lips.most of the matte lipsticks I have tried out in the past dry out my lips like crazy but this kept my lips hydrated for some hours. Unlike the old formula these have very faint scent.

 Iconic woman

Iconic women is a lip varnish from the previous formulas. I have noticed that old version had fruity scent to it( B.t.w I like the fruity scent) and the formula is a bit sheer and drying . The color of this lipstick is quite unique. The shade Is midway between orange and red. This shade is vibrant too and suitable for summer

The staying power of these lip varnishes is good. These stay on the lips for some time and leave with a slight stain on the lips. They do transfer a little when eating or drinking. I think for the price these lipsticks have amazing quality and quantity too. It takes about four months of constant use to use up a 3.2 gms of lipstick imagine how long these 5gm lipsticks are going to last even if you used these everyday
You can order you lip varnish to make your summers and Eid extra special this year

Currently Viola is available for pre orders at Masarrat Misbah Makeup online while Iconic Woman can be purchased at the official store as well as Daraz , Masarrat Misbah makeup counters and Depilex

Massarat Misbah Makeup is a Halal Makeup brand owned by the beautiful beautician sans philanthropist Massarat Misbah

Welcos Jeju Natural Aloe and Canola honey mask review

I received these masks on my mail a few days back and after trying them out I am posting my verdict. I decided to share one mask with my sister so she choose the aloe one while I went for the canola honey.
For reference my sister and I both have oily skin

Unlike most of the masks I have tried out in the past. The comes in a relatively small packaging. The packing is bright and cheerful
These masks contain 20ml of product which is less compared to other mask but that's ok as less serum means less mess. These make are not  scented. The scent is mild and refreshing. The fit of the mask is good not too big nor too small. These is also flap to cover the nose area

The Canola honey has nice scent the serum is not sticky . It absorbs easily into the skin. One thing which I notices using this was it sting slightly more like an itch . Which I weird because I haven't Experienced. anything  like this sort ever in my past. I let this mask sit on my face for 20 mins and then patted the left over serum onto my face. This made my skin soft and hydrated. The effect lasted for a couple of hours

As for the aloe. My sister enjoyed this a lot.it was her first Time trying out a sheet mask. She has a bit of redness and pimples going on her cheeks and chin so this mask did calmed her skin down and felt soothing. According to her, she noticed that there was less redness and her skin felt moisturized. Unlike the canola honey mask she didn't Experience itching
I thinks these masks are good for the value ser long-lasting results one must use them continuously for weeks to see results
These masks are available at skin18 fir purchase

Nature republic aloe cleansing gel cream

Hello
My skin has thankful gone back to normal and luckily the scars have reduced considerably. So I am now back to. Using cleansers which reduce oil production. One of the products which is still a part of my skincare routine is this gel cleanser by nature republic. If you look through my cabinet you might be very amused to see the number of cleansers/makeup removers I currently own Its insane .I think I don't have to buy another cleanser for next two years now 😊

Back to the review, I purchased this cleanser from the skinmaskaurade exhibition. I feel like kicking myself now for not purchasing more things from the exhibition( major regrets) this cleanser comes in a mint green squeezable tube which holds about 150ml of product inside. The nozzle was sealed when I purchased this. This has a green cap which does not close properly.( I think I got one with faulty lid)

Now onto the real deal which is inside the tube. Nature republic markets this product as a makeup remover which hydrates and moisturizes skin. When I removed the seal I was met with a very pleasant fresh scent of the cleanser. On squeezing the tube gel came out . The gel is clear and has a watery feel to it. It doesn't lather up at all and has a bitter taste to it. After using this the scent remained on my face for sometime.
Now Nature republic recommends to massage this gel  onto the face to remove makeup and impurities and then wipe it off with a tissue and then follow it with a foam cleanser. I improvised on the instructions a bit and after massaging this on my face I removed it with water. Here's what I noticed this didn't completely remove my makeup. The base makeup was definitely gone but traces of eyeliner, mascara and liquid lipstick were still there for reference I use non water proof mascara.

Since makeup removing properties are not on par with my Garnier and Bioderma Micellar water I have decided to use this as a regular face wash and I am very pleased to tell you guys that this has helped my skin so much. It removes the oil from my face so well moreover my sebaceous glands have started behaving themselves. This does hydrate and moisture the skin unlike many of face washes I have tried in the past this does not leaves my skin overly dry and flaky.

As a makeup cleanser this product has some deficiencies but as a face wash / face cleanser I think this is a good product
This retails for 6$ on nature republic's official website and can be purchased in Pakistan for about 900 Pkr.
Have you tried anything by nature republic? Would you recommend any product by this brand to me??

Haul post

salam

I have been a smart shopper lately so every time I go out I think twice when purchasing something. And I am happy to report that for the past couple of months I haven't bought any makeup/skincare item on a whim.

Since I am a contact lens user I switched from optiplus contact lens cleaner to Renu contact lens cleaning solution lets see how this works for both my eyes and contact lens
After trying out the bioderma sensibio h2o micellar water I have been quite curious about the performance of garnier micellar water so I bought a small bottle of it to test out. I will post a detailed review on it soon also I might do a comparison post on the two.
Moving on I bought another cleanser from the skin maskeurade exhibition. First impressions: This smells so good . I also got some samples so lets see if I like them or not

I also purchased Maybelline baby lips lip balm a staple for every purse. And since summer is here I picked out a fun green colored nail enamel . And a pen eyeliner. Some nail enamel removing pads and the color changing lip oil. Rhinestone Bobby pins and a garnier sample size face wash that I got with a purchase of a hair dye .
That's all guys. Are you a smart shopper or do you purchase things on a whim. Do let me know in comments section down below
