BioDerma SensioBio H2O Micellar water for sensitive skin review

I am a hygiene freak you can confirm this by asking my classmates . So when it comes to cleaning whether its a surface or my face I like to be very thorough. For reference
I wear makeup 6 days a week for about 6hrs/day . Special occasions (party/events are exception)

 micellar water has been around for a fairly long time and the Bioderma Micellar water is the pioneer of all micellar waters(they came up with the whole concept) micellar water actually contains minute micelles of oil which when combined with water removes stubborn makeup


As you can see the packaging is quite simple. It a transparent plastic bottle which has a pink very secure cap. This micellar water comes in 100ml travel friendly bottle one medium bottle of 250ml and a big bottle of 400ml
Product is inside is clear and transparent just like water upon shaking some bubbles a re formed. This is scent free which makes it ideal for sensitive skin

Bioderma claims that this has the ph exactly same as that of our skin which is 5.5 (acidic). Which means that it does not disturbs the normal flora of the skin nor does it makes the skin overly dry or oily. It also retains the moisture of the skin and is very gently

My thought: I soak a round cotton makeup remover pad with the water micellar water and which the gentlest pressure remove makeup from my eyes and face. What I have noticed is that it easily removes makeup without much effort or tugging. Moreover I don't have to go over the same spot on my face several times. I easily breaks down foundation, mascara,eyeliner and matte lipstick. Though micellar water does not requires one to rinse water after use I do so just to be extra extra thorough

Ever since I have started using this I have noticed that I have less open comedones . Moreover my pimples have reduced considerable. Also my eyelashes look healthy and full ( no tugging means less eyelash fall)
This micellar water is really very gentle on the skin and my oily skin is behave a lot better with this makeup cleanser

Even though the price tag is a bit steep I am going to continue purchasing bioderma micellar water until I find some thing which works better or similar to this micellar water(I highly doubt that )

Essence The False Lashes Mascara Dramatic volume unlimited

I have been longing to try the innisfree microcara mascara for a very long time  but its not easy to find original Korean makeup products in Pakistan so while I am still searching around for a suitable online store which ships Korean makeup and skincare products to Pakistan with a pocket friendly shipping I bought this essence mascara on a whim and luckily it has a very slim long brush

The mascara tube is very colorful and long and has a secure black cap. The mascara wand has a slim conical brush which is tapered at one end

The mascara has dry dry formula so it makes the lashes thick on one swipe. The tapered conical shape helps to reach the lashes on the inner corner of the eye with ease. Also the brush reduces smudging.

I also noticed how incredibly easy it was to apply mascara to my bottom lashes with this mascara. This mascara is not waterproof which is what I like because waterproof  formulas can be such a pain to remove.

 this  mascara flaked slightly after 3hrs but it was not so noticeable or messy. I didnt experience any lash hair fall or irritation after using this. The formula is very gentle on the eyes and removes easily with soap and water.
It held the curl on my eyelashes well. This mascara is definitely buildable . I applied 3-4 coats on my eyelashes and they didn't clump or look spidery at all.

You can easily  have the false lash effect with this mascara as it gives tons of volume and length to the eye lashes

Sweet touch England Matte Lipstick in shade 730

Sweet touch England is a local pakistani brand which has a lot of great makeup products in their arsenal. They are currently stocked up at makeup city and few other well known retailers across the country.

Today I am reviewing a matte lipstick 💄 by them which has a slight pearl finish. I have been attracted to metallic lipsticks for a fairly long time but no sadly when ever i tried out a metallic lipstick on my  👄  it turned out quite horrible. See the lipstick settled into the fines lines and made my lips look like dried up prunes. Ewww not the look I have in mind. But this matte lipstick by sweet touch England made my dream come true.

This lipstick has a matte finish so its slightly drying on the lips but the formula does not drags on the lips , rather the bullet  glides with easy. The color is a beautiful slightly metallic pink/rosy shade. The color is opague so one swipe completely conceals  the original lip color. I am happy to tell you guys that this lipstick does not settle into the fine lines at all. This has a good lasting power. 6-7 hrs without eating or drinking.

This has a pink mauve-y cover with a silver twist up casing. The cap shuts firmly so no fear of lipstick all over in the purse .

In case of eating this leaves behind a stain.

I have a few shades on my wish list already so expect a big haul post when I visit makeup city.

Best Pakistani Classic Lawn Collection 2017

Its time to pack up all the winter apparels  and bring out the breezy lawn suits or in my case shop for more because summer is here  in full swing.( I bet most of you might be wearing some lighter fabrics it's just that the weather in abbottabad is still a little cooler).  Just like last year , the legacy of stellar designer lawn collections continues and this year the designs and prints are more creative and eclectic. Nothing can beat the heat than fresh fruit juice and lawn suits that pakistani summers bring in and of course air conditioner that's  if you have electricity . 😁

 Stride confidently with the Star Classic Lawn this year. The  lawn suits are unstitched and come with very beautiful borders and floral embroidery, collection is very bright hued and have a lot of design to choose from. Jordana Matte Lipstick in shade Natural

I am always on a hunt for a nude/neutral everyday mlbb lipstick. Even though i do have a holy grail shade in my collection by makeup revolution called treat i am a bit disappointed by its staying power so my current goal is to find a lip product which matches my lip color and stays for 8+ hours

Matte formula tend to stay on the lips more than satin/hydrating lipsticks that's why I purchase this lipstick by Jordana in the shade natural

Price 1.5$ (in Pakistan from 250-400 Pkr)

Packaging:

 This is the most disappointing part because the packaging is absolutely fragile and cheap( my 1£ makeup revolution lipsticks have way more sturdier packaging). The plastic casing looks like its going to break easily. moreover some part  of the lipstick remains out of the tube so one has to be extra careful not to smash or injure the bullet when taking off the transparent cap

About the lipstick:

Onto the best part. Though the Casing was a bummer the product inside is amazing. The lipsticks is nude brown with a. Slight Peach/orange tinge. The texture is smooth and semi matte. I glides on the lips easily without accentuating dry spots or lines. As its not completely matte the formula does not dry out the lips. Lasting power is 5 hrs without eating anything.

I am comparing this lipstick with my favourite nude lipstick by makeup revolution

Jordana is an American drugstore cosmetics brand which has been making very  good quality affordable makeup, it was officially launched in Pakistan two years ago but for some unknown reasons they are priced exorbitantly so my advice is to either order them from a Facebook page or buy them for beautyjoint directly I will be purchasing a couple nor lipsticks from the same brand soon

LA GIRL PRO HD CONCEAL IN PORCELAIN

This concealer without any doubt ruled every makeup video posted on Instagram. The MUAs used this to highlight, color correct, contour, conceal dark circles and for spot treatment. The beauty /makeup bloggers around just sung praises on how amazing this product was. A lot of them featured this concealer in the monthly favorites post. For some it was a Holy Grail product. Being the over skeptic person that I am I watched all the reviews on the YouTube and read many blog posts with doubt as most of the raved products turn out to be trash at times. (a lot of popular you-tubers are paid to give a good review)

My dark circles got bad at the start of this year and my trusted makeup revolution concealer was not doing the job anymore (read review here) so I decided to purchase something new, after reading a lot of review I decided to try the la girl pro hd  concealer . I wanted to try the new concealer by essence and the Nars radiant creamy concealer dupe by Maybelline but then add this to my cart because it was on sale hehe.

Price: 450- 550 Pkr

Packaging:  

 just a regular squeeze tube which has a brush for a applicator and a secure black cap on top. the packaging is travel friendly. I strongly suggest to close the cap immediately after to prevent the concealer from drying up

About the product:

This concealer comes in a vast variety of shades. They have concealer for the palest skin color to the tan color. They even have a pure white shade for highlighting and four shades for color correcting. I originally wanted to choose light ivory but it was out of stock so I ended up adding porcelain to my cart which is slightly lighter than my skin color.

This is a very heavy coverage concealer. It dries to an absolute matte finish so need to use powder over it to lock it in place. This didn’t crease or crumble at all. The beast part is the lasting power. Which is so good? It didn’t budge or fade away even after 8hrs , this also has my mother stamp of approval as it performed well on her mature skin.

I used this to cover up a few acne scar on my face and it just made my skin look flawless. The tube hold 8 ml of product which I think will last me for a long time because I use concealer sparingly only on areas of my face which require a bit more coverage.

The brush applicator is a little tricky to use. See sometimes a lot of product gets squeezed out of the tube which can be waste. And sometimes no product comes out when I squeeze the tube.lol since its winter I can’t comment much on the consistency other than the fact that it can be a little drying , so hydrate your skin well before application, the formula is not to thick it has a water like texture which spreads easily so you have to act fast before it sets.  this concealer really lives up to all the hype.

February Haul post 2017

i have been feeling depressed lately and what i have observed is that i try to reduce the stress by retail therapy. so a recent trip to super market resulted in purchasing a lot of products but i am happy that i still managed too keep my head and bought useful products that i will be using this year

i purchased the Maybelline super white fresh powder as i am tired of seeing my old pink Maybelline compact so for a change this looked like it would be easy to carry in my college purse for touch ups 

originally planned to buy the Freeman black charcoal and sugar mask but the sale girl convinced me try out this instead so glad i listed to her

also for my oily skin this fresh smelling vaseline lotion seemed like a wise choice so it ended up in my shopping cart

i have been having an few pimples popping up so i went back to my trusty acne medicated soap bar. and i found a very cute rose shaped candle on a book store so it was impossible to resist this cutie,
the deodorant and vibrant blue nail enamel were totally bought on  a whim

Freeman Facial Clay Mask Avacado and Oatmeal

Mud/clay masks are a must have when you have oily skin. I used my Freeman dead sea mineral mask to an extent that I began to hate the very sight of it.  Though I have the charcoal and black sugar mask in my wish list I bought this one because the store was out of stock of charcoal mask

Packaging:

 Big squeezable plastic tube which has a lot of product

 the cap is secure and has a medium sized opening to get the product out.

About the product. This has such a nice scent. It so soothing. This mask has a faint mint green color . I usually apply this to my face with my fingers and then wait for it to dry completely. In winters it takes about 30-40 minutes to dry down while in summers it takes about 20-25 minutes. Once its completely dry and my face feels stiff I wash this mask off with water. This avocado and oatmeal mask comes off easily without much effort.

Afterwards I pat my skin dry. What I have noticed after using this mask is that it makes my skin slightly brighter and matte. I controls oil production on my face. Also makes the pores on my nose and cheek a little bit less noticeable. It also makes my pimple to dry up and that way they heal faster and don't leave a scar.
I use this mask twice a week in summer and once every 15 days in winter . This mask is best suited for people having oily or combination skin

ST.Ives Blachead Clearing Green Tea scrub

Ever since I have started using makeup I have been quite afraid to try out a scrub firstly because the sinister looking scrub particles scared me to death and secondly I though my skin was fine without it. Now I have oily/combination skin  but since last year it has-been acting all weird. I have been experiencing a lot flaky spots around my nose and chin.

A colleague of mine suggested scrubbing my face once a week but I just brushed off her advice until recently I tried out a DIY green tea face scrub at home and that's exactly when I realized what I have been missing in my skincare routine. Now this scrub is very pocket friendly and natural but honestly very messy. Every time I Scrubbed my face I was left with tea stains on my sink/wash basin. Being the ever lazy person that I am I decided to look for an alternative and to my outmost delight I found one that is affordable

Packaging: 

This scrub is housed in a matte squeezable tube. There is a transparent cap on one end which is secure so fear of spillage while traveling

My thoughts: 

 This scrub by St ives is light green scrub which has a very fresh and clean fragrance (it definitely does not smells like tea). There are very small round granules for exfoliation. Little amount of the scrub is needed for the whole face. It  gently cleanses the skin as well as exfoliates it.

This product claims to clear up blackheads but so far I haven't witnessed any progress clear up my blackheads. My skin feels dry and stretched after using this but a little moisturizer on top restores the moisture back into the skin

This is a good product price wise as well as performance wise. Moreover it has generous amount of product which is going to last a very long time. In comparison to sugar and walnut shells scrub this is very gentle plus the salicylic acid in this scrub is perfect for acne prone skin
I would suggest you all to give this scrub a shot

My Favorite Makeup and Skincare Products of Year 2016

I know i am quite late to post my last year favourites but as they say better late than never so without further explanation here it is "My year 2016 favorite products"
Drumroll ☺

 Face

I am currently rotating two foundations in my makeup routine but the one which I particularly Enjoyed using was  this past year was holika holika sweet cotton bb cream. Its light in weight, smells like cotton candy and has very natural finish

Blush 

: MUA blush in Marshmallow  My fondness for this blush remains strong and I haven't found any blush which can replace this gem

Makeup Revolution matte effect concealer: this yellow based concealer is creamy and does not accentuates dry under eye area

Lips:

 Clazona matte Lipgloss
The local dupe of colorpop matte liquid lipsticks. Amazing lasting power and great pigmentation

Mua lip trio in temptress : I really like the balm like texture of the lipsticks and how one could create a sheer to very defined pout with these. Definitely one of most used makeup product of 2016

Eye shadow: the mos beautiful earth toned eyeshadow palette by MUA in shade Heaven and Earth

Eyeliner:
 Essence dip eyeliner  is by far the best liquid liner I have ever used. The felt dip is so soft and sturdy to line up the eyes. Its not waterproof but I like the formula

Mascara:
Essence Get Big Lashes

Gives the best volume  and length ever to the lashes I haven't found any other last which could perform as great as this mascara

Eyebrows :
 Sweet touch eyeliner pencil. This is long lasting pencil eyeliner which I use to fill in my eye brows. It does the job well and gives subtle definition to my eyes 👀

MUA pro base eye primer

and  Maybelline colossal kajal in turquoise 

for days when you want a little drama, this twist up eyeliner is the best option.

Face wash:

Duvi Stockholm green tea face wash 

I really enjoyed using this face wash all year long. It smells so good, lather well and cleansed skin without over drying it

Facemask:
 Sheet mask cracare best ever 

Of all the Korean sheet masks I used last year. This one without any doubt was the best. I moisturized my face well, didn't break out my skin. Brightened my complexion and smell nice too

Freeman oatmeal mask : To battle off my oily skin I used this mud mask. It performs quite well and reduces my pores appearance
 also kept the oil production under control too

 Face moisturizer :

 Oriflame tea tree

Having an over active skin which keeps on producing frightful amount of oil I rarely use moisturizer as it means clogged pores and comedones but this moisturizer gets absorbed into the skin immediately without leaving any. Sticky or oily residue behind

Circle lens :
Diamond green lens

Very vibrant. The design is beautiful and very comfortable to wear.
So these are all the products I enjoyed using last year

Haul post: 1st haul of year 2017

despite the fact that i made a resolution to spend less money on cosmetics and other stuff i caved in to temptation and ended up buying a lot of stuff this month ,

so here it is the the very first haul of year 2017

i purchased  this amazing mascara by essence for 450 Pkr and the very hyped up la girl hd pro concealer in porcelain  for Pkr 550 so far so good i will be testing these products out for  a week to write down a final verdict on their performance

i bought another clazona matte lipgloss this time in the shade 514, its  a beautiful cool red looks absolutely gorgeous, i know i don't wear red lipstik but i intend to create a gradient lipcolor with this matte lipgloss. the shopkeeper charged me 250 Pkr for this matte lipgloss this time

the highlight of this post is definitely this beautiful choker i purchased from a stall. i really like the contrast of red and green beads paired with the sparkling rhinestone and gold details, now i have to wait for a event to wear it to , lol

i bought this wispies type eyelashes from artimatic for Pkr 80 and they do look fluttery and feminine

also i purchased this garnier eye makeup remover and  round cotton makeup removing pads. i actually sent my brother to buy me the clear big bottle of garnier mi-cellar water but he accidentally bought this one for Pkr 300 and the makeup removing cotton pads for Pkr 100

Holika Holika Sweet Cotton pore cover bb cream in shade soft beige

I totally love how Koreans cosmetic companies sell their products in most adorable packaging you can imagine e.g a hand cream in a pear shaped container or a blush in a macaroon shaped compact. This bb cream by holika holika is no exception. The pink and yellow striped squeezable tube intensifies my cravings for candy.

This bb cream smells as sweet as a candy the scent is not over powering. It vanishes after few minutes on application. This bb cream comes in two shades only which can be a bummer of you are dark skinned but for me this turned out to be a blessing since the lightest shade in the range matched my skin perfectly

i once swatched Garnier b.b cream in a store and it oxidized immediately to a very unhealthy orange color. But I am pleased to tell you guys that this b.b cream does not oxidize at all
It has a cream like texture and dries down to a matte finish. Perfect for oily skin but if you have dry skin you should either moisturize your skin well prior to application or steer clear of this b.b cream because it accentuates the dry patches on the skin. It provides mild to medium coverage. Blurs acne scars,moles and pores slightly. The formula is very lightweight so on application it didn't feel like it was clogging any pores.

i think is best for everyday use as it contains SPF for UV rays protection and blurs out imperfections too . More over I didn't experience any breakouts
I would really recommend this bb cream if you have oily skin because its last for 5-6 hrs on the skin and starts to disappear slightly on the t zone after that .
